Agenda for June 12th to June 18th

THIS WEEK:

- Midtown Blog: Already done

- Plot Black Ops 51 for about 3 stories worth UPDATE 06/17: Still working out the group’s composition.

- Re-Plot Wrayth UPDATE 06/17: This has become a challenge!

- Outline issue 2 of Wrayth

- See Green Lantern:  will post a review soon!

- Read a non-comic/magazine for about 20 – 30 pages (finish whatever chapter page 30 is in)

- Finish my “Drawing” Blog post

- Groceries

- Check out jobs on Craigslist, see what’s out there. Maybe part time? Two jobs at once + writing isn’t fun, but it’d mean my freedom from the parentals.

Honestly, I don’t know anymore. I think I’m being really stupid and stubborn. That’s the Asian Survivalist in me. He wants me to get a decent paying job and live safely. The “Writing is my Life” guy wants me to go for what I really want. Honestly? The Lazy Ass is beating them both anyway. So we all have to kick Lazy Ass out and THEN let the other two fight it out.

FROM LAST WEEK:

- Midtown Blog

- Re-plot Wrayth, start issue 2: I seem to only do a little bit of writing, so I need to step it up, but I also can’t go from 0 to 22 script pages…

- Type up my June 2010 comics spreadsheet

- Budget for the upcoming paycycle

- Create proposal and pitch for “Black Ops 51″

- Buy a sketch book and draw

- Look into art classes

Things to do for May 30th to June 5th – updated June 3rd!

- Re-Plot Wrayth. Start issue 2. – Probably going to push back till next week.

- Finish SMZ Proposal

- Start Proposal for BO 51. – Might do tonight, or Sunday.

- E-Mail people proposals. – This goes hand in hand with the the first one.

- Record Geeks Unite Episode (Interview w/Andrea Grant)

- Midtown Blog

- Groceries

- Make appointment with real dentist, get chipped tooth fixed. – Didn’t get a real dentist, but going to look at dental insurance, more than likely I’m going to say bye-bye to this tooth… HELLO DENTURES!

- Get refills on my meds

THANKS INTERNET! You are now keeping me accountable!

UPDATE: May 8th, 2011

So it’s been a week since Super Show, which is arguably the best weekend of the year for me. I haven’t really done much work in terms of comics writing, but that’s mostly been due to my crazy schedule:

Monday: Decompress day, write a blog

Tuesday: Work 11 am – 9:30pm

Wednesday: Get up at 7am, Thor Screening, podcast recording, write two blogs

Thursday: Work 11 am – 9pm

Friday: Work 11 am  - 9pm

Saturday: Free Comic Book Day, hang out with Ian.

I didn’t get a lot of sleep due to various reasons (early mornings, dog not being able to breathe, caffeine induced insomnia, regular insomnia) so I was pretty exhausted by the end of last night. Had work today, editing podcast as I type this…

I wonder if I can keep up with all of this and keep sane. The answer has been no: I stopped podcasting for months, I will tend to hermit away. I haven’t written anything. I’ve organized thoughts. I owe people e-mails and proposals. I gotta get to all of this. I gotta get to finding artists. I would feel upset with myself usually, or disappointed, but the feeling in the air is different. Being surrounded by a few hundred people who care about the same thing you do, who want to see you succeed (even if they want you to shut the hell up sometimes) is a very heartwarming thing. Of the 365 days of the year, I get that maybe 3 days. So I cherish the time I spend with everyone and I hold onto this as long as I can. In past years, the feeling went away, let’s hope I don’t waste it this year.
